Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks

After hearing every beauty YouTuber rave about the By Terry Ombre BlackStar eyeshadow sticks, I was eager to purchase some but with their expensive price tag, that was a no go. But I didn't lose hope, as I'd heard the Kiko Long Lasting Eye Shadow Sticks were a great dupe and at £6.90 & 30% off in the new Brighton store, I wasn't going to say no!

'Long Lasting' is an understatement. I had a million and one swatches on my hand when I left the store, but obviously I had no make up remover on me! After two washes, with hot soap and water, they. would. not. budge. I had to really rub at the to get them off my hand, yet with make up remover they come off like a dream. So no harsh rubbing on your eyes!

The shades that really caught my eye were 05 - Rosy Brown and 07 - Golden Beige - a rose gold and a bright white gold. Shimmery and ever so beautiful. They're super easy to apply and you don't have to be too neat with the initial application as you can use a brush to blend. Unfortunately the shade that doesn't blend very well is 07, but as it's my favourite, I'm persistent and I make it work! That shade really makes your eyes pop!
(Top to Bottom - 04 - 05 - 07 - 38)

With the amazing shades and great price tag, they're definitely a good addition to your make up collection if you're not wanting to splash out on high end brands!

life lately...

I just feel like having a little ramble, really. Just a few goings on in my life, things that have made me happy.

- Seeing the glowing faces of the newlyweds on Saturday Evening. An absolutely beautiful wedding for two absolutely beautiful people!

- Taking the time out to actually read some blogs again. Youtube is easy to pop on and binge watch, but I really do love it when I take the time out to read inspiring words and admire beautiful photos taken by fellow bloggers.

- Snapping away on my Olympus Pen. This camera has already revolutionised the way I blog and it fills me with joy that I can now create so many of the images that are currently just bobbing about in my mind!

- Enjoying a spot of successful holiday shopping!

- I love being at home, but I miss the beach and the buzz of Brighton on a daily basis!

- Wild flowers in jars brightening up my room. They're from the wedding, as there were so many when we tidied up on Sunday. Such a happy little reminder!

- A very special dress handmade for me by my Granny. The perfect summer dress. I can't wait to shoot some photos of it.

What's made you happy recently? :)

New Beauty Buys: July

MUA Blush - Bubblegum - I hit pan on my last MUA blush in Lolly and it all broke into a million pieces! So went in search to replace it. With no luck I decided to go for a pinker shade. The pigment in the blush is crazy! For £1 you can't go wrong.

Models Own - Beach Bag - Tan enhancing nail polish? Does it get much better than that? I've currently got this on my toes and it looks so lovely! Make sure you have lots of time to apply it though, it's definitely one that shows up every little error!

Kiko Long Lasting Eye Shadow Sticks - I've got a post coming up on these, but basically long lasting is a huge understatement!

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Excess - I'm a waterproof mascara gal so when my last one ran out, I went on the hunt for a different one and this has lived up to expectations. It holds the curl and doesn't budge. It's also a rubber wand, which I personally prefer!

Make Up Revolution Matte Eye Shadow Palette - Redemption - I've never worn matte eyeshadow, in fact, never owned any matte eyeshadows and I've realised I am missing out big time. I've only tried a few of the lighter shades so far and I'm really impressed.

What new beauty bits have you picked up recently?

How To :: Iced Coffee At Home

On a hot day there is nothing better than an ice cold coffee to cool you down!
But, I don't always want to hop in the car to Caffe Nero to pick up a Iced Caramel Latte, so I looked up a few ways to make my own Iced Coffee.

I'll apologise in advance to my father, who, if he reads this, will go loopy. He used to be a Coffee Trader and I'm definitely using the wrong terminology and probably doing something reaaally wrong... sorry dad!
I personally make this using coffee granules, but I'm sure it'd be even better using proper coffee in a cafetiere, but unsurprisingly, as a student,  I don't own one!

Boil the kettle, put some coffee granules into a jug then pour the water in. Give it a minute or so after the water has finished boiling, something about burning the coffee if you do it straight away? (Again, sorry dad!)

Carefully pour the coffee into an ice cube tray and place it in the freezer. I normally leave it over night to freeze so it's ready to go in the morning. Making the ice cubes with coffee means your drink won't water down as you drink it, keeping the coffee strong.

When you're ice cubes are frozen and you're in the mood for your ice coffee; pop some ice cubes into a glass, pour in your choice of milk, let the ice cubes melt et voila! Iced Coffee! I personally like a dash of agave nectar syrup in mine as I like it slightly sweeter, but definitely go for a syrup or liquid as there's no heat to melt granules of sugar!

Zoella Beauty: Let's Spritz!

When a Blogger/YouTuber launches a new beauty range, you've gotta get your hands on it right? Supporting #TeamInternet and all that! I popped into Superdrug on a recent trip to Bluewater and remembered it was the day of the launch of Zoella's new TuttiFrutti beauty range!

The smell is fruity and sweet, but not sickly, a real summer scent. I've been looking for a new summer spray and this body mist is perfect to throw in your handbag for hot summer days! It's a fresh and lovely contrast to the cosy, comforting and more autumnal scent of the original range. Incredibly affordable at only £8 too. The bottle is so pretty with the white lace print on the back and quirky font on the front. I'm excited to try something else from the range, maybe the body scrub for super smooth summer skin!

Have you tried any of the new products yet? Do you love it as much as I do?

Summer Hair: Balayage

I've never been too adventurous with my hair. Throughout school it was pretty popular to dye your hair various different colours from a deep red, to blonde, to black and although it was tempting, I just stuck with my brunette locks. When I was 16 I got a half head of highlights and loved having some lighter streaks through my hair. I was desperate for an ombre (After watching 90210 and loving Annie's hair!) but just didn't have the guts. Right up until this week in fact, I didn't have the guts to just do it. My mum said if I kept getting highlights they'd grow out into an ombre/balayage look anyway so I was happy with highlights for the time being.
In December I took the plunge and just booked the appointment... for July! So this had been a long time coming! My wonderful hairdresser said it'd suit me and that my highlights had grown out into a subtle balayage anyway (Well done Mumma, you were right!)

An early start, a cup of tea, a few magazines and three hours later, my hairdresser had transformed my hair and I couldn't be happier with it! She has put the blonde in so nicely, it's lighter around my face and there no harsh lines. My hair is thick and long, so I've had some weight taken out and a good few inches of dry ends chopped off so it feels so much more manageable for Summer!

I got my hairdresser to snap this when she'd finished, the photos slightly dark but it shows how well it's been done. I am so happy I just took the risk and went for it, I absolutely love it!
