Oh hey blog, it feels like it has been FOREVER.
I've been in a right blogging funk recently and it's been well, for want of a better word, rubbish.
BUT... Yesterday was a happy one.
I woke up at my best friends house after a day and night of eating, chatting, chilling and laughing (We ate delish food whilst watching the Brits. BEST Wednesday)
Then, I headed over to a Yoga class at Sweaty Betty. It was the first proper Yoga class I'd ever done and I really enjoyed it - despite the serious muscle burn throughout and the pain I'm in today. It was really nice to focus on nothing but that for an hour.
I then had my last CBT session. It's not something I have spoken about on my blog, but at the end of 2016 I decided I had had enough of the constant feeling of worry and self doubt and decided to talk to someone about it. It's been a really helpful journey for me and it's something I'd recommend to anyone who feels like I did. I'll talk about it in a lot more depth another time, but it was my last session and I walked away feeling confident I now have the tools to manage moments of worry, overthinking and doubt when they pop up again.
Storm Doris had knocked down a few trees on route so I had to take a fair few detours to get back to mine.
I returned home to an email saying I'd got an internship! I won't go into where or with who just yet but I really wanted it. I'd been checking my emails like a mad woman for the last two days. It's completely the kind of thing I want to go into and the company is so cool.
Things seem like they are looking up!
So, that's an update from me, I'm hoping to get back on top of things on here from now on. I have however been on it with the videos and the WEEKLY VLOGS are BACK! You can see the most recent two below. (There's a Mexican Night vlog coming soon too!)

There are definitely a few things I wish I had know before I started my blog - a few truths about the reality of blogging. There are so many positives and upsides and if you find a passion for it then these things are just part of the package! These are in no way rules or anything set in stone, just something I have learnt from experience and wanted to share.
Make Time - it takes a lot of effort.
Although blogging has lots of lovely benefits, it isn't all swish parties, polished photographs and flat-lays. It's a very time consuming hobby, which is absolutely fine if you love it and are happy to put the time in! Snapping, filming, editing, planning, writing, publishing, posting and sharing content takes a lot of time, so I think it's a good thing to know that before you start - not to put anyone off, just as a little friendly note as I didn't quite realise when I started (luckily I'm now happy to put the time in!)
Things won't happen straight away.
I have been blogging for over three years now and I am a prime example that growth. takes. time. I don't blog for the numbers, they are simply a lovely bonus, but the feeling of your blog, channels and social media growing is great - it means people are interested in what you have to say and have to share with them.
Be creative, be influenced by others, but be you.
A little cliche sounding I know, but it is so important to stay true to yourself on your blog. It is usually plain to see when someone is pretending to be someone they're not or pretending to like things they don't like just because they think it'll go down better with readers. With the 'blog-market' being so saturated now, your unique selling point is... YOU! Be influenced by other bloggers, let their ideas inspire your ideas, but make sure your ideas are your own.
Schedule & Plan - it will help!
Content planning will make your life so much easier! Plan what you are going to post and when you are going to post, so you've got an idea of what is coming up. If you plan a month or so ahead you can be prepared for any specific content that might need to go up at a certain time of year - I always find days like Valentines Day or Bank Holiday Weekends spring up on me and had I realised I would have planned some content around it.

Most importantly, make sure you enjoy it - it's fun, creative and exciting!
Are you starting a blog soon? Or do you have any tips you can share too? Let me know in the comments!
I'm back! I'm not free of university just yet, but all the essays are done, with one singing exam to go, so it's definitely time to get back to my little happy corner of the internet!
1. Goodbye dissertation! It's all done, over 18,000 words, 10 lesson plans, tonnes of market research, a lot of hard work and a few (read: many) breakdowns, all the essays have been handed in. A huge weight off my shoulders with just a practical exam to go and then my degree is done.
2. The fact I am actually able to sit down and write this post. Hello (a little bit of) free time...
3. Seeing one of my oldest family friends get married on Saturday. It was just beautiful, very emotional and such a happy day for everyone involved.
4. Homemade guacamole. Check out Vivianna Does Make Up's recipe, it's a gooden.
5. The breathtaking Dr Blighty show at the Pavilion in Brighton, it told such a wonderful story through the colourful images projected onto the building.
6. This girls got her curls back! I had a healthy chop and some blonde put in my hair last week and it's like my hair has a new leash of life!
7. Sunshine. More vitamin D in my life please?
8. Greedy - Ariana Grande. SO. FREAKING. GOOD.
9. It's peony season, how are they SO pretty? I'd like a bunch on every surface please...
10. Soaking in as much Brighton as possible. I move out at the end of this month and I will have officially finished university. I'm making the most of this beautiful place whilst I'm still here!
It's so good to be back! Look out for my The Great Escape posts this week.

#2015bestnine // Some of my favourite moments, with some of my favourite people.
Throughout 2015, my blog has grown far more than it has in previous years. Mainly, I upped my photography game and I feel so proud when I look at the photos I take now in comparison to my old ones. My following has also started to grow, on my YouTube Channel too and I'm learning what goes down well with my readers and viewers. I thought I'd round up a couple of my favourite posts from the year.
Beauty Chat Live - In February I got the chance to meet and mingle with two of my favourite blogging ladies, Lily Pebbles & Vivianna Does Make Up. It was the first event like that I'd attended and Lily & Anna were so easy to talk to and hilarious of course. They also totally didn't help my big Space NK Splurge... oops!
The Perfect Summer Cake - It tasted great and looked pretty spectacular (if I do say so myself!)
How To :: Iced Coffee at Home - One of my first blog posts taken on my Olympus Pen E-PL7 and I just felt so proud of the photos. I also still love the recipe.
Lavender Fields - This one's a very special one. This dress was handmade for me by my wonderful Granny. The photos really do the talking on this one.
Summer BBQ - One of my favourite days of the year. Making memories surrounded by friends in the scorching hot sunshine!
Makin' Mojitos - I loved the photography on this post. Didn't mind sipping the cocktails after either!
Greece Part 1 & Part 2 - A very special holiday with Henry & his family. Many a cocktail polished off and pool splashed into, I documented it with a few of my favourite photos.
Cafe Chilli - It was a huge honour when I was asked to review Thai Restaurant, Cafe Chilli in Hove. The food was absolutely insane, can't recommend it enough.
Suede & Stripes - In 2015, I made an effort to post more fashion posts. This was one of my favourites, it's was a spur of the moment shoot and I loved the outcome and setting. Huge thanks to my man for always being behind the camera for me. Here's to a lot more outfit shots in 2016!
Violence in Schools :: Learn Without Fear - Working with Plan UK on this post was a huge achievement for me. Addressing such a serious matter and being able to spread some awareness is something I'm very proud to have done and I'm looking forward to doing more of.
Tips For a Student Christmas - My student posts seem to go down quite well and I enjoyed writing this short but sweet one.
Making Mince Pies - Another one that had me beaming from ear to ear when scrolling through the images on iPhoto. I tried using my Olympus Pen E-PL7 remote control on my phone to create more movement in my photos and I was so pleased with the outcome.
2015 in Numbers.
31 : youtube videos uploaded to my channel.
240 : the number of Instagram posts uploaded to @georgia_furness.
2 : days spent in complete silence, damn you vocal rest.
23 : the number of weddings and events I've sung at this year.
108 : blog posts published here on Love On The Wall.
2 : years marked with my lovely Henry.
Just a little round-up for you guys. Check back for my 2016 post in a few days!
I just feel like having a little ramble, really. Just a few goings on in my life, things that have made me happy.
- Seeing the glowing faces of the newlyweds on Saturday Evening. An absolutely beautiful wedding for two absolutely beautiful people!
- Taking the time out to actually read some blogs again. Youtube is easy to pop on and binge watch, but I really do love it when I take the time out to read inspiring words and admire beautiful photos taken by fellow bloggers.
- Snapping away on my Olympus Pen. This camera has already revolutionised the way I blog and it fills me with joy that I can now create so many of the images that are currently just bobbing about in my mind!
- Enjoying a spot of successful holiday shopping!
- I love being at home, but I miss the beach and the buzz of Brighton on a daily basis!
- Wild flowers in jars brightening up my room. They're from the wedding, as there were so many when we tidied up on Sunday. Such a happy little reminder!
- A very special dress handmade for me by my Granny. The perfect summer dress. I can't wait to shoot some photos of it.
What's made you happy recently? :)
I've just finished my second year at university and one thing I realised this term was how tricky it was to keep juggling all the different things I want to do in life. Something had to be put on the back burner and in this case it was my blog. I didn't neglect it, but if I had to be writing an essay on market research, I couldn't be writing a blog post about my new shoes. I also had to put going to the gym on the back burner as I just felt guilty if I wasn't at home writing essays and revising. I've put together a few tips on keeping on top of things when you're busy.
- Top Tips -
Don't push yourself.
If you have to get an essay done, revise for an exam or write up a report for work then make time for it and if you have to put other things on hold, that is okay. Your health is the most important things, a blog post can wait. Make the time to get the things you really need to get done, done and then if you're too tired to do the extra things, don't push yourself to do them.
Do what works for you.
If you friend can spend all day working and you have to have breaks, that's fine. Everybody works differently so don't compare yourself to others, just do what works for you. If your break means taking an hour out to shoot some photos and write a post then do it, if it means going out for some fresh air and taking time out, that do that.
Schedule. Schedule. Schedule.
If you do set some time aside to write up some blog posts, write a few if you can, then schedule them to go up throughout that week. This way your blog won't fall behind but you don't have to keep thinking about it. You can even schedule tweets about your posts too, with apps such as TweetDeck.
Don't stress.
We are all human and understand people have busy lives, your readers won't mind if you don't have the time to write new posts when you have deadlines or are very busy at work/ You blog because you love it, don't make it something that worries you.

Hello February, be a gooden', will you?
I'll give you one guess as to why my name is 'Love On The Wall'...
I've felt a little uninspired recently...
I think it's due to not planning ahead and thinking properly and sensibly about things. I convince myself that I'm always busy, but every time I say this, I'm sat in my bedroom after an afternoon of gossip and netflix... not exactly busy, ey?
I need to get my arse into gear! This is in everything I do. I need to actually do those workouts and feel better about myself, I need to actually take the time to read my camera manual from start to finish, I need to actually sit down and do some of my uni assessments. Then, I can reward myself with the lazy afternoons of netflix, the burgers and cocktails on a friday evening. At the moment I do these things, but I don't feel like I deserve them as I don't always put the effort into 'life' that I should.
I've decided to give myself a kick up the backside I'm going to attempt to blog every single day in February. I've got some super, super exciting events coming up this month so I'm really looking forward to telling you all about them! If I have to post every day, I have to plan ahead and really think about things.
So, we'll see how this goes, I might miss a day, but so what I'm only human. But, it's an achievement I'd like to make happen this month.
I guess I'll see you tomorrow then!
