10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

This week has been a stressful one. It's been absolutely non-stop! Lectures, job interviews, Beauty Chat LIVE, gigs, rehearsals, family visits, essays, open mic nights, all sorts. It finished off with a few days at home, which has been absolutely lovely. But I was accompanied by a cold that had been ready to pounce all week, slowly getting worse as the it went on. So, I'm currently on the sofa, watching friends, sipping tea, stocked up on cold & flu tablets and wrapped up in a blanket. This week I feel I need to look back and find the good things, the things that made me smile. It's left me feeling a little deflated and unmotivated!

1. The bloom of purple and red tulips that have sat on my desk, looking beautiful, all week. A valentines day gift from my love.

2. Beauty Chat LIVE. Anna and Lily's night at Space NK was fantastic. I wrote a blog post about it, you can read that here.

3. Pancakes! Need I say more?

4. Cat cuddles. It's good to back with my little cat, Mickey, to have a snuggle on the sofa. Also to meet Henry's sister new little kitty, Jett. He is absolutely teeny!

5. Not getting on an Open Mic night on Wednesday. The list seemed to fill up within seconds and by the time I went to sign up it was full. I was sad as my dad had come to see me, but we decided to all bundle into Henry's flat and chat, sing, laugh and play for the rest of the evening. Turned out to be a great night.

6. The Great British Comic Relief Bake Off is gracing our TV screens again. Plus, Zoella was on it! Go #TeamInternet!

7. Fleur De Force's Feb-Vlogs. I've really been enjoying her videos recently and can't get enough, so daily vlogs are perfect! I need to get my hands on her book, it looks fantastic.

8. Total Divas. I'm obsessed with this show at the moment. Erm, when can I become a Bella Twin?

9. The sun making an appearance this week. It's made me so excited for Spring.

10. I'm going on holiday! The bookings for a holiday in September have started and I'm already planning outfits in my head... too early?

What's made you happy this week?

Beauty Chat LIVE!

On Tuesday evening I took myself off to Space NK in windy old Brighton, for an evening full of beauty talk, champagne, sweet treats and two of the loveliest ladies in YouTube.

Bloggers & YouTubers, Lily Pebbles & Vivianna Does Make Up, took their popular 'Beauty Chat' videos on tour in Space NK's across the UK. It seemed to be a massive success if you ask me! It was so lovely to have a browse through all the fabulous skincare, make up and haircare, chat to beauty experts and talk to Anna and Lily in a lovely relaxed environment.

Of course, I took my camera to take a few snaps for a blog post. I also spent a little more money than planned... but I'll get onto that in a bit!

The girls started off the evening with a Q&A from Twitter and a few questions from us there. In response to 'How did you manage beauty blogging and university' the answer is... 'Just don't buy books!' Anna's words... not mine! We all had a laugh and she took her words back pretty quickly when the girl who asked was an English Student! (But seriously, she's totally right, in most cases, they're all in the library!)

I had a lovely chat with Anna & Lily, it was so nice to meet them. We talked singing, BIMM, skincare and their Teenage Throwback playlist, which sounds right up my street. Anything that contains 'Thong Song' - Sisqo has gotta be good, right? They said they wanted to hear me sing... so if you're reading this, this is my YouTube channel!

Beauty experts were dotted around the whole store ready to help with any questions you had about products. I was helped by a lovely lady called Lesley on the Space NK Pro Team who found me the perfect products, with recommendations from Lily too.

On to the spending.

I went with the intention to spend £10, as our £15 ticket was redeemable on a product we purchased, so I'd be getting a nice £25 product. I actually ended up spending £37... just to get this incredible goody bag. I regret nothing. The goody bag must be worth a hell of a lot, there's so many amazing products in there. I'll start with the bits I picked out first...

Dark under-eye circles are pretty much the bane of my life. I know they're not the end of the world, but I'm super conscious of them so I want to try and get rid of them. I picked up the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado & the Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer in Custard to bust those bad boys! I then grabbed Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat... One - to get me over the spending limit for the goody bag... and Two - because who doesn't love 'fast dry' when it comes to nails!

Now onto the goody bag. Just look at the contents of it. There was no way I could say no to this, so many products I've only dreamed of owning on my student budget! This also means I now have lots of new lovely products, big and small, to review on here!

From Top left to Bottom Right :: Tangle Teaser / Nuxe Dry Oil / Living Proof Hair Serum / Yu Be Moisturising Skin Cream / WOW Styling Cream / REN Gel Serum / Wei Anti Wrinkle Mask / Laura Mercier Eye Basics in 'Tawny' / Becca Primer / NudeStix Lip Pen / Caudlie The Elixir / Antony Facial Cleanser / He-shi Tanning Gel / Glam Glow Supermud Cleansing Treatment / Mio Workout Wonder / Diptyque Perfume / Arometherapy Associates Rose Body Cream / Radical Extreme Repair / Nude Pro. Pancake Day!

It's Pancake day!
There's nothing better than pancakes for breakfast if you ask me.
I've gathered up some friends for fun and pancakes this morning.

I seriously cant wait to have my own cute little kitchen with all my cute little bits and bobs to style so lovely blog photos. But for now, Henry's student kitchen will have to do! (As far as student kitchens go, it's a gooden!)

What topping to go for?! Nutella, golden syrup, Lemon and sugar, strawberries, blueberries.. so many options! I think lemon and sugar has to be my favourite!

Have a fab day and enjoy your pancakes!

Happy Valentines Day!

Now, I don't agree with the whole 'one day to spoil your other half' thing, lets face it, you should want to shower them with love every day. But I will be taking the day out to spend it just with my Mr. Cocktails & dinner at our favourite restaurant 'Jamie's Italian' (Yes, we go there all the time, ever occasion it's a reason to dine at Jamie's!) I suppose it's just a little reminder to just focus on the two of you and your relationship in the crazy, hectic thing we call life!

I hope you have a fabulous day whatever you're up too!

Happy Valentines Day Henry. I love you to the moon and back!

Sleepover Club?

Disclaimer: Prepare for a splattering of my thoughts, in the form of a blog post. Oh & I'm about to get a bit soppy.

No, not about the man in my life, but about one of the leading ladies in my life. She's someone I've laughed with, cried with, cry laughed with, danced and sung my heart out with, holiday-ed with and spent the last seven years being best friends with! Her name is Charlie and she is one of the most amazing people I've ever met.

She genuinely is the Ginger Spice to my Posh Spice! (I totally wish I was 'Baby', but alas, 'Posh' has stuck! Not complaining though, I do love to rock an LBD)

The reason I thought I'd write this little post was due to a thought that popped into my head the other day....

One day, we'll be too old for sleepovers.

We're 20 and the sleepovers come thick and fast when we're both home from university as we have to make the most of every moment. (I'll admit, the term 'sleepover' makes me cringe ever so slightly.. but lets face it, you're sleeping over, so there's not much else to call it!) But, I do realise there does come an age where, for most people, that probably stops? You're too busy with work, general life and too grown up for things like that.

In a moment of panic, of course I sent a little message to her and she reassured me that we'll make sure the sleepovers never stop. One day we'll be having pre wedding sleepovers and pregnant sleepovers, which for any girl is an exciting thought ey? (Don't panic boyfriends, we're talking 'the future' here!) It just made me sad to think that one day, we won't sit up talking until the early hours, falling asleep mid convo, then waking up for tea & breakfast together the next day. If there's anyone you can carry on doing those things with, as you get older, it's your childhood friends.

Can you really ever be 'too old' for something? Not at all, if you ask me.

Things change as you get older, but if you enjoy something, why should you stop it just because you're 'too old'? You stop discussing the boy your fancy in your class and one directions new album (Okay, we totally still do this...) and start discussing the bigger things in life.

I'm not sure if I'm writing this to express how much I miss Charlie, or to celebrate future old age sleepovers... but lets go with it! I used to spend every day with Charlie at school and now that seeing each other is few and far between it really does suck and I miss her more than anything. I may be getting soppy, but when I really think about it, I really do miss having her in my everyday life. There are few people in my life I could slap with a piece of pizza and have them not only still be my best friend, but do it right back! (This actually happened, but it's a drunken tale for another time!) Basically, she's the best, I miss her and I totally enjoy a girly sleepover and don't want them to stop.

So, if I'm 70 and I want a sleepover with my best friend because I don't get to see her everyday/Want to sing to Spice Girls/Want to indulge in copious amounts of Cadburys Chocolate buttons, I'll do it. Okay?

Review // Mask of Magnaminty

I'll be honest, I've not always been a massive fan of 'thick' face masks. I've always loved the 99p peel off face masks, purely for the satisfaction of peeling them off... but god knows if they actually did my skin any good?!

But, theres a new product in my skincare drawer and I'm loving it! It's the 'Mask Of Magnaminty' from LUSH. A very cooling and cleansing face mask that leaves your skin feel super soft, very clean and fresh!

It smells minty (Obviously!) but it isn't overpowering, just very refreshing!

I like to put it on, light some candles and zone out for ten minutes before washing it off to reveal super soft skin. It feels cooling and tingly whilst it dries, a nice sensation in my opinion.

Taking it off can be slightly messy - like any clay masks I suppose - so I like to use a muslin cloth/flannel to help, but the exfoliating beads do your skin some good when you take it off too.

This mask can be used anywhere on the body and, of course, is made of completely natural ingredients (with one 'safe synthetic' ingredient) and is not tested on animals. I would definitely repurchase this again, but for now I've got a big pot to last me!

Pause For Thought...

I'm not going to say much. I'm going to let you look at the beauty in that photo. The disaster in that photo. The mood in that photo. And let you just think. Just zone out, calm down and think.

Valentines Day - What To Wear?

It's nearly Valentines Day! I've got a Happy Hour cocktails and then Dinner at our favourite restaurant booked with my Mr. and I've very much looking forward to it!
At the moment I'm trying to find something to wear, I most certainly can't be the only one with this dilemma! I thought I'd give a few little date scenarios (with help from my housemate Fran. She originally wrote them...then I made them less explicit... naughty franny) and the outfits I'd go for!

The First Date :: It's with the guy from the office you’ve been eye flirting with for the past month. He finally plucked up the courage and asked you out for a date. His idea of the perfect first date is bowling and drinks. You want to go for cool but casual if you ask me! Remember anything year wear has to go with bowling shoes...

Crop Top - Hollister :: Skinny Jeans - Bershka :: Leather Jacket - All Saints :: Boots - New Look :: Bowler Hat - H&M :: Belt - Dorothy Perkins :: Necklace - Unknown (A christmas present!)

----

The Countryside Date :: A lovely, but chilly walk in the woods followed by a lovely lunch by the fire at your favourite country pub with your other half. You want to go for nice but practical! You need to keep nice and warm, so wellies/thick boots and a coat are essential too!

Long Black Jumper - Primark :: Jeans - New Look :: Long Songs - Sweaty Betty :: Burgundy Floppy Hat - Topshop :: Ring - Primark :: Bracelets - Unknown

----

The 'I Don't Need a Man' Date :: You and your best girlfriends have ditched the idea of wanting a partner and are spending this valentines in a classy cocktail bar! Just go all out, you want to feel fabulous!

Embellished Sequin Dress - River Island :: Beige Suede Heels - Steve Madden :: Coco Mademoiselle Perfume

----

The Dinner Date :: Treating each other to a special meal is always lovely on Valentines day. You're pretty much surrounded by other couples and a lot of love is in the air. A night of fine food & flowing wine in you favourite restaurant is perfect. You want to look like you've put the effort in and to wow your loved one!

Black Dress - Missguided :: Patterned Wedges :: Irregular Choice :: Bracelets - Unknown
----

The Cosy Night In Date :: You're choosing the avoid the crowds and save your money this year. You two just want to relax, put some films on and cook a meal together! You want to be comfy, but also look lovely and show you're still making an effort!

Cream Cami Top - Topshop :: Skirt - Spitalfield Market :: Jumper - H&M :: Brogues - ASOS :: Statement Gold Necklace - H&M :: Belt - Primark :: Rings - Various

Happy & Healthy! {two}

It's time for the monthly instalment of Happy & Healthy again!

MUSIC TO MOTIVATE - Lips Are Movin' - Meghan Trainor. Now, I have to admit I wasn't a fan of her first single 'All About That Bass'. This one, however is so catchy and a good on to get you up and moving !

INSPIRATION TIME - Inspiration if ever I saw it, would 100% be my new favourite show/addiction, Total Divas. Those ladies have some seeerious bods and look incredible! Not only is the show totally entertaining with a lot of drama, sass and attitude, if you were made to watch (read: partake in 'at home' games of...) WWE whilst growing up by your big brother, you might also enjoy watching them do their thing in the ring too. Definitely going to be my 'gym time watching' to keep me motivated!

SWEAT IN STYLE - Missguided have recently released their new 'Active' range. It looks comfy and stylish and I'm definitely going to put an order in! This sports bra is gorgeous, just look at the back of it!

KEEP IN TIME - I'm going to start scheduling when I want to work out. If i leave it up to 'I'll do it when I feel like it'... It'll never happen! I'm going to try and fit in three workouts a week. Maybe one day, I'll be one of those people who enjoys working out and does it every day...

Are you taking any steps to keep happy and healthy this month?

Motivation For Your Monday!

So, it's 6:30am.

You're shattered after your post Superbowl sleep and now you're up early for work/school/university.

You can hear your bed, quite literally yelling your name, but you know you have to get on with your day. Make your bed; pillows fluffed, cushions plumped, duvet smooth and a throw folded at the end of your bed. That'll for sure shut it up!

Jump in the shower, use your favourite body wash. Get your day going with your favourite scents.

Make a lovely breakfast. Warm up with a hot cup of tea and a seaming bowl of porridge drizzled with honey and some berries.

Pop on your favourite bright lipstick, inject some colour into your monday.

Smile as you walk into your office. Smile as you buy your morning coffee. Smile as your pay for your train ticket. If someone did it to you, it'd mean a lot.

-

Take inspiration from the quote above and choose happiness.

If you're reading this post at the start of your day, give this a try.

Come back at the end of the day and tell me one thing that made your monday magical :)

Get Your Arse Into Gear!

Hello February, be a gooden', will you?

I'll give you one guess as to why my name is 'Love On The Wall'...

I've felt a little uninspired recently...
I think it's due to not planning ahead and thinking properly and sensibly about things. I convince myself that I'm always busy, but every time I say this, I'm sat in my bedroom after an afternoon of gossip and netflix... not exactly busy, ey?

I need to get my arse into gear! This is in everything I do. I need to actually do those workouts and feel better about myself, I need to actually take the time to read my camera manual from start to finish, I need to actually sit down and do some of my uni assessments. Then, I can reward myself with the lazy afternoons of netflix, the burgers and cocktails on a friday evening. At the moment I do these things, but I don't feel like I deserve them as I don't always put the effort into 'life' that I should.

I've decided to give myself a kick up the backside I'm going to attempt to blog every single day in February. I've got some super, super exciting events coming up this month so I'm really looking forward to telling you all about them! If I have to post every day, I have to plan ahead and really think about things.

So, we'll see how this goes, I might miss a day, but so what I'm only human. But, it's an achievement I'd like to make happen this month.

I guess I'll see you tomorrow then!
