Taking A Break...

Life's suddenly got a little bit crazy. I have just about a month left for all my university deadlines, a practical exam in June, then I'll moving back home and then the rest of my life looms. It's all getting a little too much. I'm beyond stressed and just feeling a little crap about the whole thing! But I know I just have to power on through the next month, then it's nearly all done and I'll be so happy I gave it my all.
I hope you lovely people don't mind, but I'll be taking a break from weekly vlogging for a couple of weeks to focus on my degree and putting my all into my work. There'll still be blog posts and 'sit down' videos, but if things aren't there on the right day, bare with me!

I'm so excited to have more time for my blog again in June. You better be ready!

Applebee's {Borough Market}

A couple of weeks ago on a rather sunny Friday evening, the family & I made our way up to London for a big meal together. It's rare we're all in the same place at the same time (unless there's a big occasion) so my Dad jumped at the chance to get all four siblings and all other halves together for a catch up!

We had a table booked for eight at the fish restaurant, Applebee's in Borough Market. We were taken to our table straight away by the lovely staff and they even took my brothers art folder & gazeebo (yep, don't even ask...!) into the back for safe keeping!

Mackerel Mousse

After a good half an hour of menu browsing we'd finally picked our starters and mains. I snapped a photo of ::

Salt & Pepper Squid with rocket and a balsamic reduction

Prawns sautéed with garlic & chilli

Smoked Mackerel Mousse with pickled cucumber ribbons and toast

Deep-fried White Bait with tartare sauce

Sam & I shared the Squid and Whitebait, both of which were absolutely delicious. Not a lot of talking went down at this point, so I'm pretty sure the others were throughly enjoying their starters too! Deep Fried White Bait
Whilst we waited for our mains conversations flowed (as did the wine!) and we all caught up on what we had all been up too.
Wine Glasses
Crab Linguine
Dover Sole
Sweet Potato Wedges
Our mains arrived swiftly, but with just enough time for my little brother to get the chance to go and watch them cooking, as part of the kitchen is in the restaurant.

Crab Linguine with white wine, garlic and chilli.

Whole Dover Sole cooked simple with butter and lemon.

Monkfish & Chorizo Kebab.

Grilled Jon Dory Fillet served with fennel gratin, asparagus and mussels and prosecco sauce.

all with sides of Cajun Sweet Potato Wedges and Hand Cut Chips.

Then there was my meal... I figured as the option was there, I'd try Lobster for the first time! Monkfish & Chorizo Kebabs

Whole Lobster
It turns out I love Lobster! You don't get a lot and you have to crack your way through to get to the best hidden bits, but it's absolutely delicious. It's slightly sweeter than prawns, but not quite as sweet as crab meat. It's pricey, so by no means will become a regular treat, but I'll definitely be ordering Lobster again someday.
Whole Lobster

Feeling completely content with our incredible food, with clean plates and full bellies all round, we finished our meal with coffees and peppermint teas before all making our way home. It was such a wonderful evening spent with some of the most important people in my life, over some truly delicious food. I would definitely recommend Applebee's in Borough Market if you're heading into London for dinner anytime soon!

You can see their menu here - just so it doesn't take you as long to decided on what to have!

Superdrug Haul!

I do love a good re-fresh in the skincare and beauty stash! Seeing new products sitting there all full and pretty on the shelf just makes me feel a little bit warm and fuzzy inside. No half empty bottles, no  chance of hitting pan and no product shaking to get every last drop out! So when I had run out of a lot of my essentials at the same time, I knew it was time to head to Superdrug to stock up!

Please leave a comment and give the video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it & don't forget to SUBSCRIBE for more videos too.

Hope you're having a great week!

Day-to-Night Outfits

I'm sure we've all had those occasions where we're straight from a working day to out for a night with friends, but without an outfit to change into we're stuck in structured suits feeling uncomfortable when we just want to let our hair down!

I have recently been in contact with British business wear brand, T.M.Lewinwho set me a little challenge of putting together a perfect 'Presentation to Pub' look, for both women and men. For both outfits I thought I'd start with a white shirt, black trousers combo, give yourself a blank canvas to work with and you just can't go wrong!

To take this simple look from day to night, I'd switch the black blazer for a super sexy suede jacket, adding a pop of colour and a little more excitement. I'd keep your make up simple and classy in the day with nude eyes and lips and for the evening smoke up your eyes and pop on a dark lip. A few simple changes that will leave you ready for your night out!

For the mens look, I kept thing simple with the white shirt & black trousers and wanted the jacket to be a main feature again. Switch the smart black blazer for a suave suede jacket and your office shoes for a pair of brogues and you'll be suited and booted for a night out with friends.

What are your favourite tips for taking an outfit from day-to-night?

Spring Primark Haul

Primark Haul Thumbnail

I do love a good wardrobe update for Spring. Out go the crazy thick jumpers and knitted dresses and in come some florals and soft pastel colours to freshen things up a bit! Have a little look at the bits I've recently picked up in Primark in my new video. Who doesn't love a Primark Haul?!

My Essay Playlist

I'm currently spending most of my days writing essays, I have thousands and thousands of words to write and sometimes silence around me just won't cut it. I am a singer, writing for a professional musicianship degree, so a little music playing quietly whilst I work can't hurt, right? I put this playlist together with some of the tracks I find most calming, relaxing and enjoyable whilst working my way through my dissertation. There's a bit of Mumford & Sons, Ed Sheeran & Causes mixed in with some tropical house - which may be an odd mix, but it seems to get me through the day so I'll stick with it! If you like Tropical House, I also love this Kygo Mix on YouTube too.

So whether you're a third year uni student like me, stressing over your a-levels or doing your GCSE coursework, give this playlist a go!

Good luck with the essays! They'll be over soon, we can get through this together!

The March Round-Up

Fourth month of the year... Say whaaaaat?!
I can't quite believe it's April, but it's welcomed with open arms. Bye bye Winter, Hello Spring!

It's been a good month. One final exam is now over and done with, (lets not talk about the 20,000 words I've still got to write and the round two of that exam please...). I attended a lovely blog event with some babin' Brighton Bloggers. I had the best Easter Weekend with friends and family and just spent two fantastic days in London with some of my favourite people.

You can catch all these moments in this months Weekly Vlogs below!

What did you get up to in March?
