Rounding up some NY essentials for you! In January I'm all about positive vibes, new skin care and maybe a new little something in my wardrobe. I don't go overboard, as it's just after Christmas, but I think a few treats to lift your spirits in a new year are allowed! I may or may not have picked up some of these bits myself already and my ASOS save later is full to bursting...
Happy shopping! x

Why does January seem to go on forever? Unlike some, I don't actually mind January, I like to see the whole month as a fresh start (February is a different matter...!) so the longevity doesn't bother me, but once we hit Spring, the months seem to disappear so quickly!
The 'new year' positive vibes have stayed with me this month and I've felt a real shift in my attitude and outlook on life - I'm loving it and if it could stick around that would be great. I've put a lot of time into one particular project the past few weeks and I'm hoping this year will see the results of it... whether they're the ones I intended initially or not.
I'm writing this on the day it'll be published, the last Monday of January and despite the aforementioned 'positive vibes', I'm feeling a little lost today, if I'm honest. A combination of a busy week last week, waiting to hear back about certain things, hormones, wearing comfys, no make up and a frizzy pineapple for a hair-do and a grey, dull day has left me feeling a little 'meh'. However, tomorrow is a new day! I'm going to wear my new polka dot shirt, pop on a red lip, see the sunshine (if the forecast is correct...) and do some life admin and catching up with my best friend. Pretty good medicine if you ask me!
As far as self-care goes, I've taken some baby steps and stuck to them so far! I bought a big water bottle with a straw and have been drinking at least one of those a day, according to my app that's about half the recommended daily amount for my weight and height. I've had a few bubble baths to have some screen-free/destress time and it turns out I enjoy them a lot more than I thought. I've had a lot more awareness of the amount of time I'm spending on my phone and have stayed under my limit on 19 out of 29 days - which I think is good going!
Once hump day is out of the way, so is the month of Jan and we'll be waving hello to February!
As I said I'm going to pep myself up tomorrow and hopefully achieve a little more mental clarity before the week is out... but for now it's time to wrap up my work, clean my room and dance/sing my heart out to The Greatest Showman soundtrack (obsessed).

new new new: I'm going to add a song to every blog post! Music's a big ol' part of my life, so it's only right it sits alongside my blog too.
Rounding up those faves again for a monthly favourites video - better late than never, ey?
January -like all months- had its good and bad moments. The good being lots of fun times with friends celebrating FOUR(!) birthdays and that wonderful feeling of a fresh new year, but bad in a very sad family loss and difficulty finding my feet on the job hunt.
Enjoy! xxx
It is all very well me setting these New Years Resolutions, but I feel like this year it is important to focus on monthly goals to help me achieve them rather than focusing on the year as a whole. I think it's nice to have a few smaller, less pressing goals that you just want to do, well, because you can!
I also want to tell you about this steal of a Jumper that I'm slightly OBSESSED with. I had a bit of a 'new year, new improved me' moment when I bought it so clearly, it deserves a blog post.
- J A N U A R Y -
T O - D O L I S T
- read one book
- start weekly vlogs back up
- peel, chop, slice, dice and freeze fruit ready for morning smoothies
- start meditation, stick to it
- be better at posting about new posts/videos on twitter, facebook, pinterest & instagram.
- find and start my first 30 Day Challenge
- make a good start on the whole 'stop snoozing' my alarm thing...
- clear out my Spotify playlists. It goes back to 2011. Eek.
Now for the jumper. This pale grey and bright yellow bad boy was a steal at just £12 from Primark.
My best friend Charlie and I spotted it at the same time, tried it on and both loved it back in December, so it was purchased there and then. But I knew I wouldn't wear it until the New Year. I'm not entirely sure why, I think the bright yellow just made me feel like it'd be the perfect 'fresh' colour to wear in the New Year and it would make me feel all peppy and productive whenever I put it on. A little odd, but I just went with it, a boost in productivity is always welcome no matter how it comes about.
The jumper is so lovely and chunky that it feels luxurious and expensive, without the purse actually being hurt in the process. It's also super warm too, which is a huge bonus in chilly January. I'm also thinking it'll look nice in the Spring when you don't need a big coat, but still want to keep warm if the sun goes in!
Have you set any smaller goals for January?
Here's a little round up of January's Weekly vlogs. This was my first solid month vlogging and if I'm honest, I found it difficult, but I absolutely loved it. It's so lovely to look back on moments with my friends, boyfriend and family - even moments where I'm sat at my desk having a chat, maybe a little a moan or filling you in on my plans for the day. I feel as a lifestyle blogger, my weekly vlogs sit alongside my channel perfectly.
As far as January's go, this one wasn't too bad! I'd say it's gone pretty smoothly for the start of a new year, but I'm glad it's February and I'm ready to take on this month. With a wrist operation smack bang in the middle of it and university deadlines looming at the start of March it could be a hectic one with many highs and lows, but I'll be taking you along for the ride!

Things to note for February ::
- Don't be scared of blogger events.
- Get quicker at blow drying your hair.
- Try to go for more than one 'run'
- Film more friendly faces
- Start to save up for that Canon G7X... swapping lenses when vlogging is not ideal!
- Find some more music, the struggle is very, very real with this one.
I've been shopping! I picked up a few gems in the January sales so I thought I'd show you what I got...

hello!
My January Shopping Haul!
Oh wow. Vlogging is SO much harder than it looks! I was so nervous, which I'm sure comes across in the video, but I'm hoping the more I vlog, the more confident I will get. Any tips or tricks are welcome, but be nice, I'm new to this!
As I mentioned in the vlog, I have done lots of shopping this month. Here are some of the accessories and pieces of jewellery I have purchased!
These rings were £1 for all 3 in New Look! For some strange reason, all my cross rings have disappeared, so I was very happy to come across these!

These three beauties were from Accessorize. As I have mentioned in a blog post before, I will one day have draw after draw filled with rows of beautiful rings... so purchasing 7 rings on one day didn't seem too extreme. I absolutely love these rings and I got 70% off, so I couldn't say no! I got them for £2.40!

This double ring was 50p from Primark so a super bargin! I used to have a silver cross two finger ring that has disappeared somewhere so it's nice to have a replacement.
My favourite purchase, also from Accessorize for only £3.60. I decided I don't wear enough bracelets, normally due to that fact I choose a necklace, I choose my rings accordingly depending on what necklace (gold, silver, rose gold etc...) so by the time I get to bracelets I'm fed up of trying to match things and I give up! But I want to start wearing more of them. I love the iridescent green that runs throughout the bracelet and I haven't taken it off since I got it. Although, I am hoping it doesn't fall off though, as it is only magnets holding it on!
This was also to start off the bracelet collection. A simple pyramid stud bracelet in silver that was £1.80 from Accessorize!
This bag is from Asos, £12 in the sale! It's a black satchel with gold studs and scalloped edges. I haven't stopped using it since it arrived. It's the perfect size to fit everything I need in it! Seems to fit a lot more than it looks too, which is always handy! You can buy it here!
I hope you enjoyed this little winter sales jewellery and accessories haul!
What bargins have you bought in the sales?
Link me to any of your blog posts or youtube videos about it, I'd love to see them!
