As I hit 2000 subscribers last week, I wanted to do a chatty get to know me video! I'd love to do a Q&A but thought I'd find a random questions tag online and answers those (and when I say random, I mean random!) Chatty videos are my fave as I can just put them on in the background and get on with other things whilst I listen. I can also talk for England so they're fun to film too!
Enjoy! Make sure you subscribe so you don't miss my new vlog on Sunday!

There's nothing quite like getting stuck into a good book. One that sets your imagination wild and traps you in its world. Last year I really got into reading and I made it my mission to find the time to read as I found a lot of harmony in doing so. I read to relax, I read before bed and I read to switch off.
I thought I'd put together some of my favourite reads so far and the books I've picked to read this Summer to share with you!
I'd love some recommendations! What are your favourite books?
It's the first day of Spring! (even if the grey clouds and drizzle don't help the Spring vibes!)
It feels pretty refreshing to say it's the start of Spring, everything just starts to come to life and little more! At the end of the week the clocks change too. We'll lose an hour but the evenings will start to get lighter and before we know it, it will time for warm, balmy evenings with glasses of wine whilst the sun sets.
I love having a good Spring clean.
Obviously the usual dusting, polishing, hoovering, sweeping but also having a decor refresh. Here's some of the things I'll be freshening up this month:
Obviously the usual dusting, polishing, hoovering, sweeping but also having a decor refresh. Here's some of the things I'll be freshening up this month:
Bedding
If you're anything like me you'll have bedding that you like in the Autumn/Winter and a brighter set for Spring/Summer (just me? okay) I have a faux fur throw and neutral cushions in the winter so I love folding it all up, popping it away and getting out my blue and white throw and blue and white cushions to fresh things up a bit. I usually have a white duvet cover, so it just brightens up my room nicely.
Fresh Blooms
There's nothing better than a flurry of fresh flowers dotted about. Right now it's great as you can pick up some daffodils for £1 in any supermarket and they'll last around a week if you pick them up when they're still closed. Flowers can be as inexpensive or as pricey as you like, big supermarkets have beautiful bunches for only £3 if you don't want to break the bank. I just find any flowers bring so much life into a room, the same goes for plants if you want something to last a bit longer!
Photos
If you've got photo frames around your living space, be it a flat, house or just a bedroom, take Spring as an opportunity to switch up the photos in your frames, which have probably be the same since you first put them there! I always forget to pop new photos in the frames, despite taking so many and having tonnes I'd love to see daily.
Wardrobe Clear Out
I bloody love a good wardrobe clear out, but I don't always find them that easy. I find sentimental value in e v e r y t h i n g and I get so weighed down in the worry of throwing something out then needing/wanting it the moment I do. So I never used to get rid of much, but I feel I'm getting better now I've streamline my style a bit more and know what I really will actually wear again - I try to be a bit more brutal with myself - getting one of your girlfriends in to be strict always helps! I only throw things away if they're really tatty, but the majority goes to charity shops or possibly sold on Ebay if it has a little more value. I've still got bags and bags for the charity shop in the boot of my car so it looks like I might be doing a few trips! I'll be filming this for a video on my YouTube channel, as I personally love watching decluttering & wardrobe clear out videos!
What are your favourite ways to Spring Clean?
What are your favourite ways to Spring Clean?
It's a cosy Friday evening in the Furness household as I'm writing this. I meant to get this post up yesterday but I was an emotional wreck (it all started in the morning with the first listen to 'Supermarket Flowers' off Ed Sheeran's new album and it just went downhill from there...) and it just had to wait. So I had a treat yo' self evening - face masks, fluffy socks, manicures, candles and all the lovely stuff that leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy.
But, it's the start of a new month - HOW?!
I love March - a few signs of spring pop up. Daffodils, snowdrops, bluebells appear, blossom starts to, well... blossom! and you start to feel a little warmth from the sunshine when it decided to make an appearance!
Time to reflect and think of my 'to-do's for March.
- M A R C H -
TO - DO LIST
- Finish off book two and start reading a third book. After a mammoth Amazon order so I'm stocked up for the next few months. I might film a video on the books I've read so far and ones I'm planning to read.
- Content plan for March and stick to it.
- Think about what I'm eating and get some regular exercise - 3 months until my holiday, I feel like that's a good amount of time to actually see some difference. 'A year ago you'll wish you started today' is SO true, so I need to remind myself that, like, every-damn-day.
- Treat myself to something. I've eyed up a nice suede jacket in Primark and some gorgeous Spring shirts in Zara. Financially times are tough, but I think it's important to treat yourself to a little something every now and then.
- Reflect more. What's been worrying me, the possible reasons why and how I'm going to deal with those thoughts.
- Embrace the little Spring Jewels that will be popping up all around from now on. Take more photos of them.
- Read more blogs & magazines. I have a whole bookmark folder saved of blogs I adore and a whole heap of magazines I need to flick through. It's perfect for when I'm feeling a little uninspired so I need to remember that this month.
- SPRING CLEAN. Mainly because I LOVE it, but also because it's needed. Especially in the full to bursting wardrobe!
What are your little goals for March?
I'm going though the really strange, weird post university stage where reality kicks in hard and job hunting, earning money and getting on the career ladder looms. It's scary and difficult, yet exciting and inspiring at times too. I've struggled with it and I am still struggling with it, I'll share my experiences once I've got myself more on track because right now the world is my oyster but I have no idea where to start! So to counter balance the struggles, I thought I'd jot down a little list of things that have made me happy recently.
1. Last Sunday. It was spent wrapped up in the winter sunshine with Henry. We wandered around Spitalfields, pulled silly faces in photobooths, scoffed coffee and doughnuts (nutella for me, icing for Hen) and watched the sunset on London Bridge. PERFECT day.
2. Daffodils. They're inexpensive, so they're the perfect way to brighten up a room without breaking the bank. Bright, fresh and a sign that Spring is coming.
3. Winter sunsets. Completely blinding when driving... but insanely beautiful.
4. The roast I demolished this Sunday afternoon at the Railway Tavern in Tulse Hill... literally the most incredible roast I've ever had.
5. Women's March. Never has the saying 'You Go Girl' been so relevant. Empowering to say the least.
6. Saturday nights house party. Drinks and dancing with the best people.
7. Crystals. I used to collect them when I was younger, every holiday to the coast I'd find a shop I could pick up a few shiny stones, bright crystals and pretty fossils. I found them the other day and have started to scatter them around my room, they are just beautiful and I want them to be on every surface (a bit much? probably ha!).
8. Reading before bed. Really trying to help my brain switch off a little more.
9. Catching up on some Michalak vlogs. I need to make time to watch them more often, they're some of my favourites and I feel so inspired after just a few minutes. Plus, Stef is hilarious, Hannah is lovely and Grayson is very cute!
10. Seeing a friend and her gorgeous newborn girl last week. So much happiness and love.

What's made you happy recently?
Recently I feel like I've been rushed off my feet, but also like I haven't really done much. How that works I'm not entirely sure, but either way it's made me decided that enough is enough and that it's time to start the scary job hunt, for real. So I'm taking step every day towards that, but definitely still finding time to enjoy myself, I've got a really fun week ahead!
(Taken whilst Berry Picking at Flower Farm. Full post coming Friday)
1. I GOT A FIRST! I am absolutely over the moon that I have been awarded a 1st Class Honours in my degree. Hard work (some breakdowns and some partying) really does pay off.
2. All of the 90's vibes in my new Mom jeans. I've worn them non-stop recently as they've been perfect for the 'in between' weather we've been having recently. I feel like I've just stepped out of series 1 of Friends and I love it.
3. Rainy August evenings spent on a date night at the cinema with my love.
4. Summer fruit. All the cherries and strawberries please!
5. Summer Party Plans. Henry & I are having our annual summer BBQ this weekend. I'm pinning all the recipes, drinks and decoration ideas.
6. The beautiful bright pink lilies Henry got me to say well done on my degree! (Can someone tell me the mens equivalent of flowers? I need to congratulate him on his incredible mark too!)
7. Feeling swishy in my new H&M maxi dress.
8. Crisp, line-dried white bed sheets.
9. Seeing bright red strawberries on the hanging plant I bought my dad for father's day. They are the sweetest strawberries I've ever had.
10. Flicking through Country Living magazine. It's definitely a new favourite read.
What's made you happy recently? :)
I wanted to share some photos from my perfect Sunday. Henry & I woke up, headed for brunch with friends, then took the bright sunshine and warm spring air as an opportunity to spend the rest of the day outside. I like to think Sunday's are for long walks, lots of food, time with friend and relaxing, but in the city - sometimes I find that hard. I just associate Sundays with the countryside and being at home, cities are so non-stop that sometimes there's no 'sunday' feeling, just the horrible one you get before bed.
But, yesterday was different.
We walked all the way along the seafront, stopping in little shops and museums we'd previously taken for granted and never acknowledged. We sauntered through the laines snooping in every junk shop, antique shop and homeware store we could find. We sipped delicious coffees from The Flour Pot bakery (I need to go back there and try every cake). We sat on the warm stones, filtering through for little bright pieces of sea glass. I used to search for it with my Granny on every seaside holiday when I was little, I had a hawk eye for it and it turns out I still do! We walked home just feeling so happy, content and relaxed.
More Sundays like this one, please.

On Wednesday, Henry & I took a trip up to London for a visit to Winter Wonderland! Our friends are in the Fulltone Productions Houseband so we went along for some mulled wine, beer and some damn good music. They're at the Mirror Bar every night, go and see them, you will not regret it!
We spent the evening bundled up in hats and scarves, sipping on beer, mulled wine and hot chocolate, eating pizza and then jiggling it all about with a few stomach churning rides! If you want to beat the crowds go on a weekday, but go at nighttime to see the light twinkling!
A short but sweet post, I just wanted to document a cute date night with the mr. ♥

I had the BEST birthday ever.
I was surrounded by my incredible friends and family the whole time and I can not express just how much I love them all. I received lovely messages, beautiful cards and such wonderful gifts that yesterday, albeit in a sliiightly hungover state, I got very emotional about how kind and lovely all the people in my life are. If any of you are reading this, I love you & thank you thank you thank you!
I won't ramble on, because I could definitely still cry a lot about how fantastic they all are, the wonderful memories and the fun times.
So, 21... let's do this!
I love a good list. Stumbling upon a list of 'things that make you happy' is one of the best things. Especially when you can just read the whole thing thinking 'ah I love that!' and 'yes! That's the best!'
I haven't written a '10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week' post in a while, but I thought I would change things up a bit and just tell you some of my favourite things. It might be from that particular week, it might be just in general, but it'll all be things that put a smile on my face.

breakfast & blogging; the best. |
- Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Late to the bandwagon on this one, but it's like drinking a cup of Autumn. Autumn tastes pretty darn good.
- Great British Bake Off. obviously.
- When you wake up up to sunshine pouring through your window.
- Henry & I had his flat to ourselves last night. He cooked us risotto for dinner, we just had a completely chilled out evening, in pyjamas, watching (& getting very seriously hooked on) Doctor Foster. It was just really lovely to be doing nothing fancy and to have some time be just us two.

What makes you happy?
Whilst I'm home over Summer, I miss Brighton like nobody's business. It is my home from home and I feel so calm and happy when I'm back by the seaside. Henry & I popped down there last week for an afternoon by the sea, in the sunshine.
I saw the sunny day as a great opportunity to wear my new Denim Dungarees from Primark & Striped Crop Top from Miss Selfridge. I am obsessed with this combo at the moment, so summery, comfy & practical. And they were only £10! I knew I had to snap them up instantly!
The neckline of the top is super flattering, showing a little bit more shoulder and collarbone than a standard shaped neckline. I love pairing it with High Waisted Black Skinny Jeans too, it shows a little bit of midriff but nothing too revealing.
The Dungarees are super comfortable and make any outfit look effortlessly cool. I wouldn't recommend them if you're going to be doing a lot of walking as I find I end up pulling them down a lot, but for a chilled out day - they're perfect!
I'm Wearing ::
Denim Dungarees - Primark
Striped Crop Top - Miss Selfridge
Red Bandana - Primark
Tortoise Shell Glasses (Similar) - Topshop
Leather Jacket - All Saints
Tan Leather Bag (Similar) - Oasis
Tan Brogues - ASOS
I snapped a few shots of Henry in practise for some band shots I'm taking for him in a few weeks. He's looking rather handsome, if I do say so myself.

He's Wearing ::
Leather Jacket (Similar) - All Saints
White T-shirt - All Saints
Black Skinny Jeans - Topman
Feeling famished, we headed to The Breakfast Club in Brighton, to try it out for the first time! I was delighted when I heard The Breakfast Club was coming to Brighton as I've always wanted to try it out. I'll have a full post coming up soon hopefully, you can see their website here. Henry took a few more outfit photos for me and we headed inside.

I went for an Iced Tea with lemon and mint, Henry went for a beer and we both had the Pulled Pork Sandwich. Oh my gosh, It was too die for. Slow roasted BBQ pork, oozing red leicester cheese, on a sweet toasted bun with gherkins and pickled red cabbage (which was possibly my favourite addition) with a small side salad and pot of crispy skin on fries.
Feeling stuffed and very content we wandered through the streets for a bit then headed home. Already excited for my next trip back to Brighton...
