One of the pieces I'm always reaching for with the temperamental UK weather is a jumper dress. I find it's the perfect thing to wear in Spring, when it's certainly not hot, but a coat might be a little much (well, maybe not if the recent snow we've had rears it's head again!) I feel my best in a dress and tights as it tends to flatter parts of me I like the most and cover up areas I might like to hide a little more, but lots of dresses are more fitting for sunnier climes, that's where my fave staple jumper dress comes in.

This is the *So Lost Sweater Dress from TOBI, an LA based clothing company with free worldwide shipping! They kindly got in touch recently and sent over a few pieces - this dress and beautiful star necklace being two of them. I browsed the site for hours, it's full of affordable clothing and there's a style for everyone.

With October rapidly approaching, I'm thinking about my autumn wardrobe and all the gaps that need filling. Autumn is my favourite time of year to shop for - all the layering, chunky knits and different textures - it's so fun to change up my usual style and have a play with new season pieces.

Here's just a couple of things I've spotted recently, all relatively affordable with the most expensive item being the beaut Burgundy Suede Jacket from River Island. I have been after a jacket like this for years, and I really do mean years, the only probably was, it didn't exist anymore. I'd seen designer versions for over a thousand pounds and an old season Missguided one that was perfect, but alas they no longer sold it in that colour. With suede jackets being a huge trend this A/W it's good to see brands are catching on and hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on the jacket of dreams.
I've got my eye on all the slouchy jumpers. Oversized, knitted, chunky and comfy - the usual criteria. I'm particularly loving the ASOS Twisted Back Jumper to give a simple outfit a subtle sexy edge and the La Redoute Oversized Cable Knit Jumper for when I all I want is effortless comfort. (I actually had my eye on this last year after spotting it on The Frugality, so think it might be time to bite the bullet - especially with the current 20% off!)
I seem to have worn out every practical pair of boots I own, so a major shoe haul is needed. I'm on the look out for a stylish but practical pair, with a heel that isn't too high, a pointed toe and to come up to just above my ankle, so I don't ask for much...! This pair from TU at Sainsbury's are pretty perfect.

At only 5'3 and my legs not being my fave part of me, culottes were something I avoided whilst shopping. I just didn't think it was a style that would be very flattering on me, until I found a jumpsuit that I seriously loved. I actually found one in Monsoon first, a beautiful off white linen playsuit with blue stripes - but with a £60 price tag. Although that's not going to break the bank, I wanted to find something a little cheaper if I was going to try out a new style for the first time.
Quiz Clothing to the rescue! I spotted this playsuit in House of Fraser at a bargain price of £26 (with 20% off that day too!) I tried it on pretty unsure of how it would look and to my surprise I felt so good in it. It cinches in in all the right places, thanks to the belt tie and with a pair of thick heeled sandals I think the culotte style looks great too - not the most flattering, but I don't think you have to wear things that are completely flattering all the time, as long as you feel good in it, wear it!
The white makes your tan POP so it's perfect for warm evenings on holiday. I went for natural curls, glowy make up, silver jewellery and tan heeled sandals. I can't wait to wear it again, I felt so confident and comfortable in it. I'll definitely be pushing my style boundaries again, if it leads to gems like this... ·•✶☾

NEW VIDEO TIME!
My wardrobe was well overdue a huge clear out, so I thought I'd film the process - as it's the kind of mundane task that I strangely LOVE to watch videos about (I'm sure I'm not the only one?)
So after a nightmare filming, including out of focus footage and then losing footage... the video has finally made it up on my channel, so please go and give it some love!
Are you feeling like you need a wardrobe Spring Clean too?!
Today I'm gonna have a ramble about this new bomber jacket I'm absolutely LOVING right now.
My Mumma kindly picked it up for me when she was out recently as a little present. She snooped around Outfit and found this in Dorothy Perkins - which isn't a place I tend to shop in that often (for no other reason other than forgetting it exists!) The jacket is by Blue Vanilla and is only £18 online, bargain.
It's the perfect transitional piece between Winter/Spring/Summer - it's a warm, thick material so it will keep you warm if there's a chilly breeze, but it's not a heavy jacket or coat that you'll end up carrying for the rest of the day if the sun shines. It's the perfect in between for the unpredictable Spring weather.
It's on trend with the floral embroidery on the body of the jacket, which oddly enough ties they burgundy, grey and navy & white stripe together. They're not colours I'd typically put together but the embroidery somehow manages to make it all work.
I've paired it with my blue high-waisted skinny jeans, a simple white tee, brown Chelsea boots, a brown belt and my usual black handbag. A very simple, casual look that I seem to be drawn to each time I open my wardrobe - perfect for Spring weekends.

Reflective Aviators - Some where in Croatia...!
What kind of jackets do you go for during Spring?
With the purse-strings being a little tight right now, I'm on a shopping ban... but ohhh boyyy I wish I wasn't! Every shop is rolling out their beautiful Spring lines and I've fallen in love with every pale blue, off the shoulder, blush pink or embroidered number I've seen!
So, just to tease myself I've scrolled through ASOS and picked out a few Spring pieces I'm dying to purchase right now (and might just do so if I get the chance to!) But I love having a look through ASOS to get inspiration for wardrobe updates each season.
Pink Suede Jacket - £90
ASOS Ultimate Chunky Cardigan - £28 (I need this in my life!)

I really love Autumn and Winter fashion, I love layering pieces, I love the burgundy, kahki, mustard shades, the dusky pastels and then the deep greens, reds and black around Christmas - and for that reason I love putting together Lookbooks at this time of year.

I just wanted to write a little note about November. It's always one of my favourite months and I just wanted to say why...
bonfire night
- Crackling bonfires and the kind of fireworks that make you go 'wooow' as they light up everyones faces. I've got exciting plans with family and friends full of food and fireworks. I'm hoping to film a nice little video too
autumn
- Autumn is in full swing, showers of orange leaves fall from the trees every time the wind blows and the countryside is like an artists palette of beautiful autumn colours.
goodbye uni
- This year, I'll be graduating with a 1st from university. Graduation feels like it's been a long time coming as we're pretty late to be having ours, but I can't wait to tie the final bow on my uni years.
twenty two
- It's birthday month! I don't think I'll ever be over the excitement of birthdays. I have lots of plans with my favourite people and I think that's one of the reasons birthdays excite me so much, I get to say 'Hey, all you people who constantly make me smile and laugh and who make me feel loved daily, come and spend a day doing fun things together' what's not to love about that?!
the lead up to December
- I don't just find 'Christmas Day' exciting, I find the whole thing exciting. The lead up, the time with friends, time with family, watching films, getting cosy, celebrating, playing games, wrapping presents, that warm, cosy feeling you get throughout the whole of December.
This look will feature in an upcoming Autumn Lookbook on my channel, but if you want to know any details...

What do you love about November?
There's something just so Autumnal about being able to wear bare legs with boots. Grab a pair of your softest knee high socks, a simple denim skirt and suede boots and you're good to go for a crisp, but beautifully sunny Autumn day.
Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year, there'll be a little post coming soon to document my many loves of Autumn, but the change in wardrobe has to be one of the best bits. Swapping your maxi dress for knitted dress, your cami tops for oversized jumpers and your sandals for chunky heeled boots. There's something about layering that I find so exciting, thinking of different combinations and new ways to style up, not just your favourite items, but the items that had been in the drawers just waiting for Summer to end so they could hop back onto your hangers again.
I feel like sometimes you have to jump out of your comfort zone with fashion. It's lovely to play it safe, but sometimes putting on something you feel maybe too dressy or over the top or accentuating the parts you'd usually want to hide, might be just the confidence boost you'd been looking for.
I've never been a big fan of my legs, I know they're not huge, it's rather silly to be honest, but we all have those things we're self conscious about. I have my legs out if I want to, I don't let it bother me to that extent. To wear an outfit that the only part of me that's really on show is my thighs is definitely nearing the edge of my comfort zone, I felt a little bit like I'd be framing the part of my body I'm most conscious about. But did I do it anyway? I sure as hell did.
It crossed my mind that I may look silly, I was just pottering about with Henry, popping into town and then heading home, but I just thought go for it. I wanted to wear it and I knew I'd probably feel great in it and I did feel great in it, really great in fact! I didn't think about legs at all, I felt really confident.
So what I'm trying to say is that sometimes your comfort zone is there to be pushed and nine times out of ten you'll feel a million dollars for doing so.
If you follow my blog, you'll know I really like to keep things as affordable as possible. A lot of this outfit is from Primark, completely by coincidence. I paired my A-line demin skirt with this new deep red and blue check shirt, both from Primark. I thought I'd bring a lighter colour in to the mix with my cream knitted socks, then with my black suedette boots from Primark too. (Which, after this shoot and a day of wearing them, got completely stuck on my foot and I had to seriously wriggle out of them! Damn you zip!) I then added my black fedora from Accessorize and a berry lip.

Socks - I have no idea! These are similar.
I'm making the most of outfits like this whilst we still have some sunshine and it's not too bitterly cold outside! I pushed outside my comfort zone and had not one regret, I highly recommend it.
What personal fashion boundaries are you going to be pushing down this season?
