Ahh, Laguna Beach!

The place where I just wanted to drop everything, move to and become a california gurl.

Alas, this was not possible so I made the most of the two days I spent there!

The first stop was passing through on our journey to San Diego, so I didn't get to look around as much as I wanted too!

As well as admiring the beautiful views in these shots, I was also admiring the spectacular mullet & visor combo a woman was sporting at the next table along. It was Fabulous Californian Frizz!

I had the best chicken caesar salad at Hotel Laguna, on Laguna Avenue (I think it was there is google maps serves me well...)

After lunch our feet touched the cali sand for the first time.

On our second visit we stocked up on fresh fruit, sushi and the most to die for cookies from Whole Foods and enjoyed the sunshine and the beach.

We buried the boys in the sand, we played catch, we swam in the sea, we jumped over waves and we dined like kings.

Like father, like son...

Mango sorbet on my new hot pink 'Laguna Beach, Cali' towel.

People are so friendly in the US. I had to carry 4 ice creams back from the street to the beach so they gave me pots & a box to carry the cones in. Two ladies who were waiting to cross the road at the same time as me started chatting to me as they found my 'ice creams with hats' amusing. No one feels afraid to just chat, there's a really friendly amosphere.

Laguna Beach lifeguard anyone? ;)

Next Up: Denver, Colorado, yeee-hah!
With it being the start of summer and a trip to cornwall always being on the cards, Lucy, her mum, Anna, My mum and myself took ourselves off for a little trip to the seaside.

Anna and Lucy have the cutest cottage down there, so the four of us stayed there.

After a long afternoon of travelling the first place we hit was the pub for food.

It was gooo-od, as I said in a previous post any burger with gherkins on is good enough for me, so this one went down very well!

But the dessert. Oh boy, the most amazing sticky toffee pudding ever.

It was like eating a toffee flavoured cloud.

So light and drenched in toffee sauce.

Try and resist licking the screen. I know, it's hard...

We ventured to the Lost Gardens Of Heligan (Separate blog post to follow!)

Then after, we hit the beach!

Luce and I booked a surf lesson for Day Three. I have ALWAYS wanted to learn to surf!

We tried to convince the mums to have a kayak lesson... they weren't having any of it!

We retreated back to the cottage (after some food & clothes shopping...) for a bbq and a night in.

We visited Wheal Kitty. So beautiful and picturesque.

The bright blue sky reflected on the sea making it a gorgeous deep blue which faded into a beautiful turquoise.

What a beauty Luce is!

Just look at the colour of the sea!

Makes me want to just dive right in!

Just posing on a cliff, because we can!

The rest of the day continued with a surfing lesson!

We had water up our noses, salt in our hair and a hell of a lot of laughs.

'If in doubt, paddle out!'

We had such a lovely instructor and we both had the best time. I'd recommend Breakers Surf School to anyone in St Agnes wanting to learn!

The evening was spent watching England (lose) in the World Cup at the pub, then drowning our sorrows in that sticky toffee pudding!

Recently the weather in the UK has been absolutely glorious.
It's only June and we've had scorching hot summer days.
(Hot enough to make me swim in the sea in Brighton and that means it must be hot, trust me...)

These photos are nothing special, just a few snaps from my iPhone from various beach days.
They bring a smile to my face every time, happy days and memories.

If only beach hair was normal hair...

best friends and beach days!

Do you ever get those days were you just want to spend sometime just 'me, myself and I'? I grabbed a trashy novel, sushi, rose lemonade and just settled down on the beach for the day. It was really lovely to just listen to the sound of the sea and enjoy some 'me' time.

Run and jump!
