It has been a hot minute since I last put up a blog post.
About two months ago I started working full time in a dream role - it's creative and I work with the best team - but my time to write on my little corner of the internet has dwindled, as I expected and accepted it would. As I've settled into the job and found a little more routine when it comes to a few smaller jobs I'm continuing as a freelancer, I've found the time I have left is spent with friends and family and before I know it weeks have passed and I've not picked up the camera to film or opened my laptop to blog.

Eager not to lose the source of so much creativity from the past few years, I'll be blogging and filming when the time feels right and I have something to say or photos to share - very natural with little schedule, so bare with me. But, that's the where I've been and why over with! I'll quickly get your up to speed on a few goings on.

May and June were full of beaut weather (which is continuing now, HELLO heatwave!) and fun weekends, so I wanted to share a few snaps with you from the last few weeks or so. I'm jetting off to Mallorca on Sunday, so I'll have all the summer, packing and holiday vibes for you v soon.

MAY

The first weekend in May was a looong, hot one. We drank gin catching up with friends, sat around the fire pit until the early hours toasting marshmallows, ate a damn good lunch at Henry's grandma's house and relaxed in the hammock to get some shade. Dreamy and so chilled.

One hot sunny Sunday was spent celebrating birthdays at Henry's house. After al falling in love with a life changing cake (it's not dramatic, it's true.) at a party in February, I got in touch with the lovely Mary Ann, who made the cake to get a surprise one made for Jo and Jasmin's birthdays. It went down very well and we were all pretty satisfied with our carrot cake fix afterwards!

JUNE

The start of June meant one month until mine and Henry's first holiday, so there's been a lot of organising going on this month. It also saw trips to Mercato Metropolitano, an amazing street food place near London Bridge - gin from Jim and Tonic and prawn Pad Thai was a winning combo for me - but it's got anything and everything you could possibly want + there's a photobooth which I'm always a sucker for.

I decided it was time to bring back the blonde for Summer and I'm so happy with it. I'm always torn between going back to dark brown, my natural colour but every time Summer rolls around I just want it to be bright and beachy.

The sale of our Grandma's house finally went through and we said goodbye to the home that had been in our family for over 60 years. My mum cut some of my Auntie's favourite flowers from the garden before she left - it had flowered just in time - a nice surprise left on my desk when I arrived home from work that evening. They're delicate, beautiful and smell incredible.

and that's a little round up of the last two months for ya! I felt like I needed to get you to speed before I dived on in with holiday posts. It's been a real shift for me, but I couldn't be happier and I look forward to fitting in my time to write, photograph and edit when I can. Quality over quantity.

I found time to pick up the camera and vlog, too. Have a watch.

There's always so much to cram in during December. People to see, things to do, presents to buy, mulled wine to be sipped and mince pies to be eaten - it's all gotta be done, but with so little time!

I've put together a list of things I'd like to do this Christmas, some I've done, some I'm yet to do, but for me, they're the things that really make it Christmas.
I've also popped my first two vlogmas videos in, so it's a little round up post if you will!

the to do list

decorate the tree
make homemade mince pies
get creative with diy presents
watch Love Actually
drink hot and spicy mulled wine
have a 'friends' christmas
spend an evening at Winter Wonderland
write christmas cards
put together a banging christmas playlist
build a gingerbread house
devour all the mince pies

what else can I add?

*NEW VLOG*

The one where I spend Good Friday with my best friends being owned at bowling and being scared shitless by ridiculous arcade games. Days like this are the absolute best, I love planning them, looking forward to them, enjoying them and then reliving them though these videos. I love being able to look back on some of my favourite memories with my favourite people, so I embrace the imperfections, that come with making sure I'm 100% enjoying myself at the same time and upload the memories to my channel.

It's nearly the weekend, woop! Thought I'd take a moment to reflect on what's made me happy recently as I haven't done one of these posts in a little while and they're always one of my favourites.

1. Spring weather. A change in the clocks, the evenings are getting lighter and it's like an exciting trail heading towards summer!
2. Learning how to use photoshop. I had to make a moodboard for work, I just took the plunge and tried to teach myself how to work photoshop to make it. It took hours, but I'm so happy with the results.
3. I went to Secret Cinema: Moulin Rouge on Wednesday as my brother & I got tickets for my mum for mothers day and OH MY, Secret Cinema is the most crazy, insane and wonderful experience. You immerse yourself in an entirely different world for an evening and it is magic. We were singing, dancing, acting, booing, clapping, cheering, laughing in both the hours before the film starts and during the film. Amazing.
4. At said Secret Cinema, I had Raclette for the first time. Seeeriously melted cheese on top of crushed potatoes with gherkins and salad. It's a cheese (and gherkin) lovers dream. Literally on a Raclette hunt in London now. I need to have it again!
5. John Mayer's Where The Light Is: Live at the Nokia Theatre album getting me through a sleepy Monday morning.
6. My plan today is to see my best friend - get brunch, catch up, have fun and then we're meeting all our favourite babes for a curry tonight. Perfect Friday!
7. Big Little Lies on Sky Atlantic. Watch it.
8. Baggy sweaters tucked into Mom jeans. I literally look like my mum in the 80's/90's and I BLOODY LOVE IT.
9. Charlie snapchatting me to tell me she's bought an inflatable watermelon rubber ring for our holiday in June. The girl understands my love for watermelon. That's a true best friend.
10. Jotting down a few plans for Summer. I've started making a list of the places I'd quite like to go to that aren't too far from where I live. It's nice to just start thinking of Summer plans.

What's made you happy this week? :)

Psssst. New outfit posts coming next week...

International Women's Day.

----

Mum, my wonder woman. You taught me how to take what life throws at you, the ups, the downs and the unexpected, and to still be smiling at the end of it. You also taught me how to be a little bit crazy and I love that.

Grandma, you taught me to appreciate the little things and to always look up.

Granny, you taught me that I'm stronger than I think and I should always remember that.

Auntie, you taught me how to laugh until your belly hurts, even when times are really tough.

My Step-Mum, you taught me to stand up for what I believe in, to be strong and ambitious.

My Best Friends, you taught me to laugh at myself, to worry less and to live a bit more.

You all taught me to be passionate and determined, to live a life without limits and to love unconditionally.

You made me who I am today. Thank you.

Who are the women you'd like to thank today?
As December comes to and end and we're about to wave goodbye to 2016, I thought I'd round up all my Vlogmas videos in one place for you.

I have absolutely loved this month. I love Christmas and I wanted to thoroughly make the most of it seeing as next year I'll be working and won't have as much time to get festive! I will love looking back over these vlogs, especially Vlogmas Day 10 - the BEST day with my best friends. We hug and laugh at lot, it's mega cute.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous New Year!

Just a couple of phone snaps and a video from bonfire night. I was with family and friends and spent the evening by the bonfire, watching fireworks, eating delicious food, drinking winter Pimms (which you NEED to seek out and try! It's delicious!) chatting away and playing silly, rather messy games.

I can't watch the video without a big smile on my face. Happy days.

As we bid farewell to our Summer and say hello to the crunchy leaves of Autumn, I thought I'd round up some of my Summer blog posts, starting with some photos and a video of myself and Henry's annual Summer BBQ.

previous BBQ's :: 2014 || 2015

It's one of my favourite days of the year - it's just carefree, lots of fun and everyone has a great time - no one has to worry about getting home with the option to camp, so everyone can let loose a little! It was the biggest it had ever been this year, so there was copious amounts of food and drink to keep us going until the early hours!

The sun was shining, drinks were flowing, food was being devoured, slip'n'slide rounders was being played by Will and his friends, with a very enthusiastic little brother of mine having the best time of his life with them! (check this out in the video, it looked SO fun!)

As the sun set, we turned the music up and nattered, sang and danced into the early hours. We all just had the most relaxed and carefree day with our best friends. I put together a little video of some of the clips myself and Henry's brother captured on the day, it's such a lovely reminder of such a fun day.

I won't ramble on, I'll let the photos and the video do the talking!

What was your favourite day this Summer?
