I am so keen when it comes to a new year. A clean slate, fresh year, a new start and controversially I'm not completely opposed to 'new year, new me' mantra... Whilst I don't think you can change your entire persona at a clock turning midnight, you can channel 'new year, best version of me' which is what I try to do. I love setting NY resolutions and smaller goals to hit throughout the year.
Some of these things are a bit of a given for me this year, but there's nothing wrong with setting a realistic goal and I'm excited to know I actually have to achieve some of these!
Cook & learn more recipes
I'm enjoying having my own kitchen to cook in! After we moved, November and December were such busy months for us, things like cooking new and exciting dishes for dinner were overlooked for easy curries and spaghetti bolognese. This year, Henry and I both want to cook more and expand our go-to recipes to somethings a little more exciting. We want to nail a bloody good roast too.
Use less plastic
I want to be more mindful of the single-use plastic I'm consuming on a daily basis. A few simple changes such as carrying on using my Hydrate m8 water bottles over picking up bottled water on the go, taking re-usable bags to the supermarket and putting veg in paper bags. We've only got one planet and we all need to do our bit.
Be more on top of money
Another one that is, personally, a bit of a given this year, I want to be on top of my finances. I say this, as it comes hand in hand with renting a property and a gazillion bills for various things coming out of my account each month. Not knowing where I'm at with money is something that makes me anxious and if I'm on top of things, it will help my headspace.
Practice Calligraphy
This one has for sure been a NY resolution before but I've made the first move by ordering myself a pen holder, nibs and ink from Quill. I think it's SO impressive when someone can write things beautifully! I've also been practising some brush lettering on 'Procreate' with my iPad and Apple pencil too. Excited to learn a new skill!
Live in the moment more - less scrolling, more living
LIFE IS TOO DAMN SHORT. Burn the expensive candles, put your phone down, wear the red lipstick, cover the walls in things that inspire you, dance in your kitchen, just post the selfie, spend actual quality time with your family, laugh with your friends until the sun comes up, tell people you love them, compliment strangers, scroll less and LIVE MORE.
---
To make thing's a bit more manageable, I'll be setting myself monthly things to focus on these. The bigger picture and end goal isn't always the best thing to keep you motivated, it seems too overwhelming and unachievable, so I'd be more likely to put it off. I'll be sharing my monthly goals as and when I can - last years full time job and blog balance is an example of why I can't quite commit to saying each month...!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
A huge HEY to 2018 and big welcome to a rather snazzy looking re-designed blog!
I do love a new year. I love that feeling of wiping the slate clean and starting fresh. It's funny how we all wait for a new year to make big changes, to shake things up, when really we could do it any day of the week, it's just that extra boost of motivation. This year though, I really do feel a shift as we've gone into 2018. If you've read my last blog post on my thoughts about 2017, you'll know how I felt about whether I had achieved enough, so going forward I really do want to change.
To build my confidence, to say yes to more things, to just do, see, experience and live a little more.
A lot of my goals for the year go hand in hand. It feels a little strict to refer to them as 'goals' or resolutions', it's more so what I want to focus on to have a healthier and more productive year.
I just need to look after myself a little better. You only get one body and we should all be treating it like a temple! I've got four things I'd really like to focus on this year - to have a better sleep pattern, to drink more water, to move more and find an exercise I enjoy and to be on my phone less.
I spent most of 2017 working for myself... part time. Which meant I was in charge of when I worked, but I didn't need to work all the time. This resulted in little structure, a lot of distraction and hella procrastination! If I continue working for myself this year (who knows!) then I plan to structure my days more. I also hope (read: need) to get more work, so a busier life will naturally leave less time to faff about.
Similarly to above, I just want to invest my time better. Whilst the previous point relates more to work, this is more to my hobbies, interests and skills (which in turn will help my work). I want to learn more about my camera, discover photoshop properly, find out new ways to edit on Final Cut, experiment with my GoPro - to dedicate time to learning, rather than doing it as I go. Inspired by my brothers 12x16 project, I think I'll focus on a different topic monthly/bimonthly so I have a bit of a plan together.
A more personal one, maybe a slightly odd one, but I just think I need to remember I'm an adult. I worry a lot about what people think. I worry about doing the wrong thing and getting in trouble or that I actually have no idea what I'm doing and just blagging my way through, sometimes I just need to sit back and remind myself I've got 23 years of life experience in the bank and I'm no where near as naive or inexperienced as I think I am.
A big goal, but one I feel has to happen, or at least be on the way to happening, this year. Henry and I want to move in together and when our work situation clicks and works the both of us, that'll be our next step. I love living with my Mumma (and will weep when I move out properly!) but I know it's time for me to grow up and get my own little home.
With a fresh new year and a brand new blog design (big thanks to the awesome pipdig for all the help!) I'm switching up my upload schedule too.
There'll be one new blog post every Monday and a new video on my channel every Thursday - with bonus vlogs in between!
Here's to a creative, productive and bad-ass 2018!
I bloody love a new year. I love that feeling of wiping the slate clean and starting fresh. After Christmas, where you've eaten yourself silly, you're running on prosecco and you've got shiny new presents all ready to be played with, January comes as a refreshing start.
This year, I really feel like this is first time I've felt I truly need this new year to come around. You never need an excuse to set resolutions, targets and goals but a New Year feels like the right time to make ones you really do mean. I've felt a bit lost since I finished university, anyone in the same boat I'm sure will tell you it's a difficult time with so many options to explore, whilst at the same time what feels like a lot of limitations. The world is your oyster but you also have to make life decisions, it's just a tricky time.
It's pretty awful that I can't actually remember all of last years resolutions. This year I'll be typing them up and putting them on my wall above my desk. There's no forgetting them if they're staring me in the face each day!
Stop Watching, Start Doing
I want to stop watching other people having amazing experiences, going on adventures, taking care of themselves and stepping out of their comfort zones and start doing it myself. Comfort zones are there to be left, what is the fun in staying within the boundaries of them? I want to experience more in 2017 - I want to travel and go on adventures, I want to learn new things, I want to feel better about myself, I want to eat better and work out more often, I want to meet new inspiring people, I want to push myself.
My brother did a crazy project titled 12x16 last year. He took on a new creative project every month of the year and as a result had the most challenging, yet inspiring and incredible year of his life. I'll be sharing his video on my social media platforms and you can check it out here. It is honestly the most inspiring video if you're feeling like you want to beat the boundaries of your comfort zone this year.
Calligraphy
This is just a fun one. It's something I have always wanted to do. I've seen so many people take it up recently and I'd love to be able to just whip out some calligraphy skills whenever I needed too. Henry got me the book 'Nib & Ink' for my birthday and I'm hoping to do a couple of lessons too.
30 Day Challenge
In the interest of just wanting to do more this year I thought I'd pick a few 30 Day Challenges to do throughout 2017. I'll start with the 30 Day Squats Challenge, because the booty ain't too pleased with the Christmas Quality Streets consumed...! But there are some amazing ones around minimalism, photography, social media detox, exercise, meditation and health that I want to try.
Worry Less
I've realised I spend a lot of time worrying about things I have absolutely no control over. I overthink, I stress and I feel the physical weight of worry on my shoulders and I recently realised that's actually not something I have to live with and I can change it. 2017 is the year I kick this worrying out of my life and embrace a more positive mindset.
Jobs, Vlogs & Blogs
This year I will be job hunting and saying yes to all the experiences I can to try and find the right job for me. I will, of course be continuing with my blog and YouTube channel and publishing the highest quality content I can, as often as I can. I will also continue as a photographer for bands/bloggers and videographer for weddings, which are all things I picked up as freelance jobs in 2016 and absolutely loved. This year I will be proactive, opportunities don't just fall into your lap and I'm feeling determined to go out there and find them.
I'm writing up a long-term to-do list for 2017, with things I'd like to do this year, not necessarily resolutions as such, but things I want to experience and do.
Make sure you're following me on Twitter, Instagram and Bloglovin' so you don't miss it!

So those are my resolutions. I'm hoping the review them in a few months tweak any that after a bit of discovery need to be little more specific or to help them become a little more achievable. It's hard to say all you want to achieve in a few statements so it's good to look back on them every now and then to check they're still the goals you want to reach.

What are your New Year's Resolutions for 2017?
We all see those buzz feed lists, wonderful recipes and fabulous videos that we don't just want to bookmark and let them sit there, like old books on a dusty shelf, we want to share them! These are the little gems I've recently found and want to share with you on my little corner of the internet!
1. 10 Things I Miss About Uni Nights Out - I've been home for nearly a month now, so I am very ready for a night on the town with my best friends. These couldn't be more true to life if they tried...
2. Travelling Noodles - I'm on a Health kick this January, so these delicious noodles from The Londonder are perfect for a healthy lunch. Have a look at all her recipes, they'll have you drooling on the keyboard!
3. How To Start a Project Life Scrapbook - I have been into scrapbooking all my life, so when I saw Lily Pebble's video, it was lovely to see that I'm not the only one. It's so lovely to have a book that is full to bursting with the happiest of memories. I've never used 'Project Life', that Lily uses, but I'm going to save up, as it looks so lovely and a little less time ( & Pritt Stick...) consuming!
4. 25 New Years Resolutions Everyone Should Make - This really made me think. Some of these new years resolution suggestions are ones that a lot of people, including myself should think about doing! It's the little things we forget about!
5. 73 Questions With Blake Lively - This woman is my absolute idol and I love this video, by Vogue. She seems so fun and lovely (and she's just had a bubba!)
6. The Fitness Files - 'Vivianna does Makeup' literally my current fitness queen. Seriously, she did a 4 mile race at midnight in NYC on NYE, what a babe! (With her boyfriend. They vlogged. It was cute. I started to well up. Emotions are clearly running high. Watch her NYC vlog here!) Her videos and blog posts are very honest and fun to watch/read, not all about fitness though, which is a good thing! I'm not a fan of the whole 'cut sugar out of your diet completely, it's not good for you' thing, which I'm finding is the case with a lot of fitness/health blogs and YT channels at the moment. Anna is great inspo as she's dedicated, but realistic. If she really wants that meal at Homeslice, she'll have it! I'm also that kinda gal...
Have you got any great internet finds to share?
1. Have a healthier lifestyle.
Tidy room, tidy mind. Healthy body, healthy mind. Organised mind, happy G!
I've been excited about this one since before christmas, but let myself enjoy the festive period without restrictions, so will be starting in 2015! Going to be doing a little blog series to keep me motivated too.

2. Blog like there is no tomorrow.
Starting my blog in 2013 has made me happier than ever, I thought it may be something I love for a while then the passion dies down, but that has not been the case. A year and half later I still look forward to taking photos and writing posts and the feeling of publishing a post I'm proud of fills me with a warm fuzzy feeling inside. 2015 shall be the year of the blog, I want to up my blogging game, big time!

3. Get rid of social media anxiety & overthinking.
This is the most ridiculous concept and shouldn't even be a thing, but unfortunately, it is. The anxieties that come with social media are crazy. I want to learn to exit the apps, turn off my phone, switch off my brain and enjoy my time without thinking about what so and so's mysterious tweet was about.

4. Sing, write, perform & play.
Seeing as I'm on a music degree you'd think this one would come easily, but I don't feel like I'm achieving enough outside of my course. I've already made baby steps towards this one in my first term, so it's all go from here!

5. Earn some money!
I want Summer 2015 to be a summer without restrictions. I want to be able to go on holidays, to go to London, to go to the pub, to fill my car up with petrol without the fear of checking my bank balance the next day!
So, there they are. They goals and targets for this year.
2015 is here & I am oh so excited!
What are your resolutions? Comment below, I'd love to know!

Before going ahead, diving straight in and telling you my 2015 Resolutions (which will be up tomorrow!) I'm going to look back last years and see what I achieved!
2014 has had some ups and some very sad downs. It's been a difficult year, but the good times have been wonderful and I look forward to many more of those in 2015. The bad times have been very hard and very sad, but have made me a stronger person.

1. Write a blog post at least once a week.
I did achieve this one, with a total of 108 blog posts this year, in equates to two a week! This is something I am definitely going to keep up.
2. Song write more and learn more songs on the piano
Oooooops. Not achieved, which actually makes me quite sad. I'm on a music degree and this one should of been achieved a long, long time ago.
3. Start Vlogging.
This one definitely happened! Can I get a whoop whoop?! It's made me very happy filming videos and I try to do at least two a month. I uploaded six videos this month, never thought I'd be doing that! I don't get thousands of views and I don't have hundreds of subscribers, but my channel is growing, slowly but surely.
4. Be Happy, Confident, Healthy and Positive.
This one is a hard one to sustain for a whole year. I had very motivated moments and some less motivated moments and overall I am a very happy person, but I do let lack of confidence and negativity get me down sometimes.
5. Be more proactive and organised!
This one is pretty similar to the one above, it depends how motivated I am! But it's something I'm going to work on this year.
What were your resolutions? Did you achieve them or not?

HELLO 2014!
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
1. Write a blog post at least once a week.
This one might be a little hard to keep to every single week, especially around assessment time at university, but I want to try my best to write a blog post every week. Even if it's just a little one. My blog is a happy place and I love the feeling of publishing a blog post I'm proud of.
2. Song write more and learn more songs on the piano.
Seeing as I'm studying a Professional Musicianship degree this one should be something I already do... but when you study it every day, it's not always what you want to do when you get home.
3. Start vlogging.
I have have have to do this. I wanted to start last summer, but 'conveniently' never got round to it. The new year couldn't be a better time to start so I have no excuse. Lack of confidence can do one, it's time do do what makes me happy! I will aim for at least one vlog a month!
4. Be Happy, Confident, Healthy and Positive.
This is an important one. I'm not saying I'm miserable, shy, unhealthy (although my new christmas food baby might disagree...) and negative at the moment, but I do have my down moments and that is something I want to try and get rid of!
5. Be more proactive and organised!
I need to stop lying on my bed scrolling through blogs/twitter/tumblr/facebook for hours when I should be doing house hold chores or more importantly working. On paper, I'm organised, Lists galore! But in reality, I'm super lazy and I need to actually start doing what's on my To Do List!
